Amid tense diplomatic relations, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed on Sunday that “upholding and respecting the rule of law” was a topic they discussed with the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In a phone chat with the president of the United Arab Emirates, Trudeau also discussed the state of affairs in Israel and their shared concern for safeguarding civilian life.

“His Highness @MohamedBinZayed and I discussed the situation in Israel on the phone today. We discussed the necessity to safeguard civilian lives and voiced our profound concern,” wrote Trudeau on X.

Additionally, they stressed the significance of fostering stability and peace in the area and urged all parties to participate in constructive communication and come to a peaceful conclusion.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s dedication to fortifying the bilateral ties between Canada and the United Arab Emirates, notably in the areas of trade and security cooperation, was acknowledged by Trudeau.
