Trudeau Considers Exiting “Crazy Job” as Canadian Leader

Justin Trudeau, Canada’s leader, says he frequently considers leaving his “crazy job” but wants to stay for another election. Trudeau has been asked repeatedly whether he will continue to do his job because many Canadians are no longer satisfied with him.

All those individuals are concerned about how expensive it is to buy a home and live in Canada. In opinion polls, his Liberal Party has been lagging behind the Conservative Party. Some politicians believe Trudeau should step down because he may be jeopardizing the Liberals’ chances of winning. Even some of his friends believe it’s time for him to leave.

Trudeau, however, claims that he cannot now simply end the conflict. He acknowledges that leading is extremely difficult and that he considers giving up daily. Besides, he has to give up a lot of personal belongings to be in charge. He and his spouse, Sophie, announced their separation last year. Together, they are parents to three children.

Trudeau was elected as his party’s leader in 2015. But since then, the Liberal Party’s voter base has steadily diminished. As things stand, Trudeau’s party lacks the necessary number of votes in parliament to enact significant legislation without the support of the New Democrats. Trudeau claims he entered politics out of a desire to help people rather than to gain popularity. He thinks he can contribute something significant to Canada.

Trudeau is fighting a losing battle over a massive plan to tax fuel and other items that worsen climate change. April 1st is when the carbon tax is scheduled to increase once more. Trudeau has stated that the government will not budge in response to requests from a few province premiers to halt the rise. The Conservatives and a few other leaders wish to halt this plan. Despite the disapproval of some, Trudeau says he’s not giving up on it because he believes it’s the right thing to do.

“I entered politics not to be popular, not for personal reasons, (but) because I want to serve and I know I have something to offer,” stated Trudeau.

While it is easy to criticize taxes and other government initiatives, he argues that his plan will reimburse the majority of Canadians for the money they paid for the new tax. Even though not everyone agrees with his plans, he thinks it’s crucial to follow through on them.
